Roads Untravelled

The next in my fantasy environments/scenes series for my advanced drawing class. This one changed a bit throughout the course of its development - it started out as a painting on a dungeon wall with adventurers looking at it with their torches and books out, but then I realized that the style I used for the illustration works better for a carving. So I ended up going for more of a forest/jungle ruins deal.

The adventurers I chose to wander this scene (without even noticing the ancient carvings XD) are my kitsune, OniRao, and her travelling partner, Nix Highborn the gnome. Nix is, as you can see, the serious one, who's trying as hard as he can to figure out where they are. Oni's just happy with dancing through the underbrush. XD
